Brow Lift

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, restores the upper part of the face by correcting sagging in the forehead, eyebrows and upper eyelids. Patients often seek the procedure to correct droopy brows, low-set brows or a tired appearance of the face.

Some patients opt for neurotoxin injections to lift the eyebrows, but this is a temporary fix, requiring repeat injections every four to six months. Dr. Surek, who has specific fellowship training in brow lifts, is skilled in surgically elevating the brow through various incisions at the hairline.

What should I expect during the consultation?

The first step in the process is a consultation with Dr. Surek and his staff. You will be asked to discuss your medical history, including surgeries, allergies and current medications. You will also need to talk about the facial features that you think make you look older. It will be helpful if you bring photos of yourself from 10 to 15 years ago to help when discussing your goals and planning the procedure.

During the exam, Dr. Surek will help to determine the correct shape and position of your eyebrow and discuss which procedures will offer the most natural results. Dr. Surek can advise on how to combine a brow lift surgery, chemical peels of the lower lid, lower lid surgery, and fat grafting procedures.

How is the surgery performed?

Brow lift surgery may be performed in either an outpatient surgery setting or our office operating room. The type of procedures recommended, as well as your tolerance and anxiety level, help to determine the most appropriate setting.

The length of surgery depends on the specific procedures. Most are complete within an hour or 90 minutes. An hour is required in the recovery room.
