Chin Surgery

Cosmetic surgery of the chin restores a cosmetic balance to the lower face, jawline, and neck. Patients seek chin lift surgery for many reasons, including correction of a “weak” chin or dissatisfaction with chin shape or direction.

Two of the most common ways to change the appearance of the chin are to advance the bony portion of the chin or place an implant through a small incision. Dr. Surek has specific fellowship training in chin surgery and will guide you to the best option for you.

What should I expect during the consultation?

The first step in the process is a consultation with Dr. Surek and his staff. You will be asked to discuss your medical history, including surgeries, allergies, and current medications.

Dr. Surek will help to determine the correct shape and position of your chin and discuss the different types and combinations of surgeries that would produce the most natural results. Chin surgery may be combined with volume augmentation of the jawline, a neck lift or a facelift.

How is the surgery performed?

The surgery is performed in an accredited surgical facility. Some procedures can be conducted while the patient is sedated and treated with local anesthesia, but most patients choose general anesthesia. You will be provided with explanations of all the options, and Dr. Surek will help to guide you.
