Neck Lift

A neck lift restores a youthful contour to the neck. Patients often seek this procedure to correct “sagging” in the neck, excess fat and fullness under the chin or the appearance of a “gobble” in their neck.

Some patients opt for neurotoxin injections into the muscle of the neck to help treat “banding” but this is a temporary fix, requiring repeat injections every four to six months. Dr. Surek, who has specific fellowship training in neck lifts, is skilled in surgically correcting neck contour problems.

What can I expect during a consultation?

The first step in the process is a consultation with Dr. Surek and his staff. You will be asked to discuss your medical history, including surgeries, allergies and current medications. You will also need to talk about the features in your face and neck that you think make you look older. It will be helpful if you bring photos of yourself from 10 to 15 years ago to use as a reference when discussing your goals and planning the procedure.

How is a neck lift performed?

Neck lift surgery is performed in an outpatient surgery center. The length of surgery depends on the degree or severity of neck deformity, but most procedures are complete within about two hours. An hour is required in the recovery room.
